Hello Everyone,

I have news of two new resources and a Virtual Strategic Planning Training program for M&E teams (offered by the MEASURE Evaluation project) listed below. All the attachments relate to the VSPP program.

Happy holidays!
Kind regards, Anna

1.       MEASURE Evaluation recently released "Making Research Findings Actionable: A quick reference to communicating health information for decision-making." (pdf, 166.79KB) This documents provides a quick reference of suggested communication approaches for health researchers and M&E professionals in order to facilitate stakeholders' use of health information for decision-making.

2.       A new resource on M&E of violence against women & HIV programs from Development Connections and UNIFEM: Marilyn Thomson - HIV and Violence Against Women - Monitoring and Evaluation of Programmes

3. USAID’s MEASURE Evaluation Project is pleased to announce that they are currently accepting applications for the Virtual Strategic Planning Program (VSPP) for teams working in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of HIV/AIDS programs. This VSPP M&E will be conducted in English and the accepted team members need to be able to read and write in English.

The main goal of this VSPP M&E is to lead teams involved in the collection, analysis, and use of health data, through the four stages of strategic planning.  At the end of the program, each team will have a complete strategic plan and an implementation strategy linking the strategic plan to their operational plan.  The VSPP is a seventeen-week internet-based strategic planning program hosted on the VSPP website of MEASURE Evaluation partner Management Sciences for Health (MSH).  A highly interactive learning program, the VSPP consists of six learning modules, a supplementary participant workbook and booklet, and expert virtual facilitation and coaching from strategic planning specialists.

This VSPP M&E program will begin on February 22, 2010 and conclude on June 18, 2010. The application deadline is January 15, 2010.

The VSPP M&E is being offered free of charge to qualified teams. The cost of the program is being supported by USAID.  An earlier announcement was forwarded by USAID/W to their Missions in the field.
