Health Systems in Action: An eHandbook for Leaders and Managers is an electronic resource from Management Sciences for Health (MSH) that provides managers of health programs or health services with both practical and theoretical information to help strengthen and align the building blocks of a health system. Chapter 8 specifically addresses M&E.
 
Global HIV M&E Information Website and Listserv
This website is a fantastic resource for HIV-related monitoring and evaluation resources, job openings, and training opportunities. We recommend that anyone interested in increasing their M&E capacity sign up for the Global HIV M&E Information listserv.

Training Opportunity
Diploma Course on International Health and Policy Evaluation (IHPE)
Erasmus University Rotterdam
9 March - 27 May 2011

The deadline for application is 1 December 2010 (Scholarship deadline was 15 October 2010)

This Diploma Course is organized jointly by the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS), the institute of Health Policy and Management (iBMG) and the Department of Public Health (MGZ) of the Erasmus University Rotterdam and aims to provide an interdisciplinary perspective on population health and health services in low- and middle-income countries.

The Diploma Course provides the essential training in health and health services research to support rational decision-making and sustainable improvements in health. It covers the assessment of population health, evaluation of interventions and policies, cost-effectiveness analysis, priority setting, and delivery and financing of health services. It aims to provide participants with knowledge and understanding of recent developments and modern research methods in these fields. Participants will be better equipped to critically evaluate and contribute to policy, practice and research.

The Diploma Course consists of 10 one-week modules and runs from 9 March to 27 May 2011. Teaching will take place in the Hague and Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Student housing can be arranged in the Hague.
